089. 2124

The week flew by without me even noticing. I'm just sitting here and thinking, it's already Sunday! What happened to my week? This week was busy, but I am happy.

Dad arrived back here last week for some work and extended his stay to celebrate little sis's 21st birthday. Last Sunday, Lydia demanded my dad to make dinner since we haven't had his cooking for a while. I think the last time we had it was last year during Christmas? And dear god, did he cook!

The birthday girl who couldn't wait to eat. Dad cooked lobster, cray fish, roasted beef, mushroom soup (yes he actually bought the bread to make it like a bowl, you normally get in restaurants), made salad, asparagus and baby carrots. Also made mashed potato. T_T

We (obviously) couldn't finish all that food, so we kept almost half of it for the next day. After dinner, we went to Lydia's favorite cafe at Upper Thomson Road, where I have had planned a surprise for her for weeks. Actually, I invited her best friend to surprise her at the cafe but she couldn't make it in the end because her granddad has just passed away. ): But still, Lydia was happy when she saw her cake.

Baileys Irish Cream cheesecake!

We just had our usual coffee and some cake, then we went home and waited till midnight to officially wish her.

On Monday, 15th July (her actual day), we went for dinner at one of the restaurants in Takashimaya, I think it was Teochew cuisine. The food was good! Dad ordered peking duck (our favorite!) and some other dishes with rice. A very Chinese dinner but the whole family was happy. After dinner, we went to Oriole for coffee, this family is made of coffee lovers. Blame it on living in Melbourne, coffee culture.

We didn't do much after that and went straight home, Lydia didn't really care that much about celebrating her birthday. She told me she was contented already. Dad went back to Jakarta the next morning, the next time I see him will probably be in Japan in fall. Can't wait! :D

On Thursday (my birthday, 18th July), Lydia brought me to Ritz Carlton for High Tea! One of my favorite things in Singapore after Raine introduced it to me last year. I was so happy because it's kinda hard to get a table at Ritz, its always fully booked! Halfway through of 9 course meal, the pianist started playing Happy Birthday and the waitress came out with a cake. I was surprised because I haven't had a birthday cake in years. So I made a wish and blew out the candle.

I seriously need to fix my hair and re-bleach it.

Little sis decided to take a photo of our empty plates. -_-

We left Ritz Carlton at about 5ish and made our way to town. I wanted to get an easel since mom asked me to choose my present. So, we went to the art supply store and in the end, she was the one who picked it out. I love the one she chose, it had extra storage space at the bottom of it and it was so cute. I already posted the picture on Instagram. After that, we went to Kinokuniya. I don't even know we went there, I am going back to Japan in two weeks. -_- Again, we didn't do anything much because I really hate how boring it is here. So we went back early, and had dinner at Upper Thomson.

Nothing fancy because we were still so full from our tea. I just had a small bowl of Laksa and some fishball soup. Not long after reaching home, I crashed and slept all the way through till morning. I always don't get enough sleep when Dad's back and on top on it, I slept at 8+am and woke up at 1ish to go for tea.

Thanks to everyone who wished me. I could feel the love this year and I love that Rachel sent me this picture of Tosha to wish me Happy Birthday! :) I miss her.

Still, nothing exciting has been going on lately. It feels like everything is at a standstill and I just wake up everyday doing the same thing. At least, I'm doing what I love which is painting. It seems to be life is only going to get more exciting once August starts.

August, I'll be off to Tokyo (!!!) with little sis for Summer Sonic and other concerts and I get to see my favorite band again <3 I can't wait to see lynch. ! Excited to finally meet Yuri too! and after I'm back from Tokyo, we're going to see Anberlin, I haven't seen them since the last time I was on tour in Australia back in 2009. September I'm going to see my babe, Gabriel Saporta and Cobras <3, then after that, we'll probably go to the F1 concerts for The Killers. October, I hope I can go back to Japan again with my dad.

I have no plans for November and December yet but I'm so tempted to go for lynch.'s THE BLACKEST NIGHTMARE Zepp Tour. Also, it would be nice to end the year in Japan but we'll see, we'll see.

I have been very lazy with blogging... as you can tell my hurry to finish this entry. -_-

087. unknown face

I can't believe it's already July! I didn't even write about my trip to Manila. Actually, there's nothing much to write about because I was mostly at home with Tosha (Steph's puppy). I still enjoyed myself even though it was a little boring.

Lately, I've been running dry on ideas and girls to draw. Sometimes, it's so hard and sometimes it just comes naturally. I don't know how to explain it. Maybe I need to exit the country again. The haze situation a few weeks ago in Singapore really made me feel lethargic and lazy because the PSI was so bad (400, healthy range is below 50), we couldn't even get out of the house and all I did was watch movies over and over with the little sis for the entire week.

Nothing much have been happening lately, nothing interesting to say the least. Next month will be wonderful though! I'm going to be in Japan (again, haha) for two whole weeks! I can't believe I'm going to see Yuri soon. I can't believe I'm going to Summer Sonic 2013 to see the GazettE! and finally get to see Bullet For My Valentine. I want to do a lot things this time. I already planned some things to do with little sis, like going to Saitama for Moomin Valley and a whole bunch of travelling around Tokyo and doing fun things with Yuri! Can't wait! Now, if time would only move faster...

I was looking through my tumblr for some inspiration when I stopped and stared at this girl for the longest time.

She's stunning. I felt like she's one of those girls I see between sleep and awake, so I clicked through the link and it lead me to Adricia Photography. She's a Korean photographer, I am in love with her work. The girls she chose for her project, Unknown Face, are breathtakingly beautiful. I could just stare at them all day.

More of her work :

Thanks to her, I've already started on a new piece. I'm excited to draw someone new and experiment new things. I haven't listened to THE NOVEMBERS in forever and it's so nice to have them by my side once again.
